“Bangladesh are a classy side and it is a positive result for us,” Nathan Lyon said in the post match ceremony at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Thursday.
Nathan Lyon, the Aussie off-spinner captured 13 wickets in this Test to lead his side a comfortable 7-wicket victory. Talking about the wicket, he said it was good to bowl on.
“It was a really good wicket to bowl on, especially spin. Credit goes to our batters for the way they batted and set it up for us. It was a really special performance by the bowling group. We all know that we haven’t had the best of success in the sub-continent; it was important for us to come here as a young group and stand up,” he said.
Warner took the player-of-the-series award along with Lyon for scoring centuries in both Tests. Lyon takes a dig on his team mate as he says that he doesn’t count personal successes unlike Warner.
He concluded, “I only try and win games for Australia and pick wickets for the team. Bowling in partnerships is important and it was fun. I am not like David Warner to count personal successes(**chuckles**).”
