Gayle had 99 sixes to his name before the start of one-off T20I against England in Durham. As the Windies were put into bat, he didn’t take much time complete his century as he pulled a short ball from David Willey in the third ball of the third over.
Gayle smashed 40 runs off 21 balls including three fours and four sixes in the innings. He was run out in the seventh over of the innings just after when he and Evin Lewis were off to a flying start.
