The West Indies hard hitter Chris Gayle almost lost the touch of his national jersey after 2015 World cup especially in ODIs. Though he was with the T20I squad for a while but he was detached from the ODI squad after the Australia-New Zealand 2015 World Cup.
Finally, after 2 long years the Windies legend has made his return to the ODI squad.
Though there is no other way than playing Chris Gayle in the WI squad. The reason is if he has to be a part of the 2019 World cup squad he has to get in touch with the team lineup from now on.
On the other hand, West Indies themselves is facing a lot of trouble because they haven’t made their spot confirmed for the 2019 world cup. To do so, they have to win the rest of the six matches coming up on their schedule.
There next match is against Ireland on Wednesday and they are going to face England in five ODIs.
Supporters believe that Gayle’s presence will make West Indies more confident and might help them secure their needed victory against Ireland and England in the coming days.
Along with Gayle, Samuels and Jerome Taylor have also made their comeback. Both of them played their last ODI match in 2016.
