I will try to convert my fifties into a big score: Sabbir

Bangladesh are done with their practice match against South Africa Invitation XI which ended in a draw. The tigers scored 306 runs & 235 runs and declared in both the innings. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ বড় ইনিংস খেলায় নজর সাব্বিরের]

The most successful batsman was Sabbir Rahman who scored fifties in both the innings. He scored unbeaten 58 runs in the 1st innings and scored 67 runs in the 2nd innings. Apart from him, Mushfiqur Rahim and Imrul Kayes scored fifty too.

The right hand batsman said he is satisfied with the practice they had before the clash against South Africa and is ready to take them on: “We had a practice match here. It was for three days. I think, we had enough practice. We had a good preparation. In Sha Allah, we will do well in the first test. The result will be good In Sha Allah.”

The mistakes that the batsmen made in the practice match will not be repeated, said by Sabbir: “The wicket was better than what I expected. Some batsman played really good, some got out early. I hope these mistakes won’t happpen again.” 

The 25 year old batsman scored 125 runs in the practice match and that will boost up his confidence, he told the reporters: “Obviously it will boost up my confidence. I scored fifty in both the innings. I hope I can play in the first test In Sha Allah. I wont be overconfident. My target will be to score lot of runs. I will try to convert my fifties into a big score.”

Sabbir Rahman has been in the spotlight of criticism for a while now and is yet to prove his ability in the longer format of the game. After a good performance in the practice match, the stage is all set for Sabbir to do something big against the Proteas.
