Bangladesh bowlers keep on toiling in the second day of the first Test at Senwes Park, Potchefstroom as South Africa extend their first innings total to 400+.

The Proteas added 113 runs in 27 overs to overnight score in the second morning. Hashim Amla and Dean Elgar started the day with their personal milestones and are still going strong with a double-century stand.

Amla brought up his 27th ton in 143 balls. He now jointly stands second with Graeme Smith for most Test centuries for South Africa. Before his century, Elgar reached a career high when he registered a 150+ score in Tests for the first time.

Bangladesh bowlers yet remain wicketless. South Africa are 411/1 in 117 overs. The second-wicket partnership is now on 215 runs. Elgar, 172* off 353 balls with 14 fours and three sixes, is getting close to a maiden double ton while Amla has given enough pain to the visiting team. The veteran is on 197-ball 137* including 17 fours and a boundary.
