Mashrafe Bin Mortaza’s Test career was not prolonged because of persistent injury troubles. In this format, a bowler has to bowl for a long time which is not possible anymore for Mashrafe who suffered long injuries in his career.
In 2009, when he played his first Test match as a captain and bowled tremendously well against West Indies but shortly after he suffered injury troubles that made him suffer for a long time.
After that Mashrafe had no courage to make a comeback in Test Cricket. Basically, thinking of his importance in ODI cricket BCB decided to keep him away from the longer version Cricket although in 2014, he played in NCL.
Now Mashrafe is making a comeback in NCL’s 19th edition and will play for Khulna division. On 15th September Khulna will play their first match at Sheikh Abu Naser stadium where Mashrafe will appear.
According to Mashrafe’s wish he was picked in the team informed by Khulna team management. After hearing the news Khulna’s coach Monowar Ali Monu said: “Mashrafe is Mashrafe. Our all eyes will be on him because he is coming after 3 years. His presence in dressing room means an extra motivation.”
In 2001-02 season Mashrafe made his first class cricket debut. Because of injury he was irregular in this format and played only 54 matches where he got 129 wickets. On 15th September, it will be his 55th match in the white shirt.
