Mohammad Ashraful, who is playing for Dhaka Metropolis in the 19th edition of NCL started this season with a hundred and sent a clear message that he didn’t fade away. In this season’s NCL, the first hundred came from Ashraful’s bat. He scored 104 against Chittagong Division at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.

After his innings on friday, he didn’t came to field on Saturday as he was feeling sick and had high fever. He spent the whole day in the dressing room. After a blood test on Sunday, the report suggests that Mohammad Ashraful is infected with dengue.

The right hand batsman has been sent back to Dhaka for better treatment. Dhaka Metropolis’ team manager Amin Khan said: “From friday night Ashraful had fever. After a blood test, we got to know that he is infected with dengue. He is sent back to Dhaka today. He will be given better treatment there.”

The match between Dhaka Metropolis & Chittagong Division is stopped due to rain at the moment. After Dhaka set a target of 384 runs, Chittagong are now at 193 with the loss of 4 wickets.
