‘Mushfiqur will be the key on Day 2’

'Mushfiqur will be the key on Day 2'After the Dhaka Test, the pitch was expected to be the same in Chittagong too but the pitch turned out to be completely different in the 2nd Test. Bangladesh, after winning the toss & electing to bat first started steadily and the pitch had no turn or uneven bounce in the first phase.

But Bangladeshi batsmen still struggled and all the top four batsmen were out leg before wicket courtesy of Nathan Lyon. Bangladesh were in all sorts of trouble after losing 5 wickets for just 117 runs.

Afterwards, skipper Mushfiqur Rahim didn’t let Australia to capitalize as he was rock solid right from the word go and built an all-important 105 runs partnership with Sabbir Rahman.

Momentum shifted to Bangladesh but he couldn’t continue till the end as Sabbir Rahman departed for well-made 66 runs while on the other end Mushfiqur Rahim ended the day with unbeaten 62 from 149 balls.

All eyes will be on Mushfiqur Rahim & Nasir Hossain on day 2. The skipper who is totally set at the crease will be looking forward to score his 6th Test hundred and if he will succeed it will be a game changer for Bangladesh.

The first innings average score is 370 runs at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong and if the Tigers score around 370 or something then Australia will be under massive pressure.

The pitch is likely to break down in the 3rd or 4th day, so batting at 4th Innings will be a tough job.

If Mushfiqur Rahim departs at the start of day 2, Bangladesh will likely to be bundled out under 300 runs and it will be hard for them to take lead. Captain’s knock, that’s what Mushfiqur Rahim is playing and will be hoping to continue and take Bangladesh to a healthy position.

With only 4 wickets left, Nasir Hossain needs to support the skipper and stay at the crease. Mushfiqur saving Bangladesh and bringing them back to the game, it is something that we are witnessing since the last 3-4 years.

He is on verge to score big and with proper support from the other end, he might completely take the game away from Australia.
