The fifth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is going to be started from 2nd of November this year. This time Rangpur Riders are in the hand of new owners Bashundhora Group Ltd. who has been rearranging the team in new ways for this BPL. Rangpur Riders have always been one step ahead not only in cricket, but also in the other form of social works. This time they are coming with a new event ‘Talent Hunt’.
This franchise has taken the initiative to find out new talents from grassroot level in Rangpur. Local talents are to be taken under the light with this event. Registration will be held from 27th September to 30th September in Rangpur.
In this Talent Hunt event, opportunities are there not only for the seamers but also for the batsmen and spinners. They will have the chance to show their talent.
With this initiative they are hoping to raise world class cricketers and of those who will do well, might gain the chance to play for Rangpur Riders in BPL.
The CEO of Rangpur Riders told Bdcrictime.com, “Not only in the field, but also in the remote corner of Rangpur we want to find out talents and bring them in Bangladesh cricket. So we have taken this initiative to hunt talents. There will not only be pacer hunt but also spinner and batsmen hunts are the parts of this event.”
To be noted, Rangpur Riders have started to take heartthrob foreign players after getting under the new owner Basundhara Group. Players like Chris Gayle, Samuel Badree, Ravi Bopara, Thisara Perera, and David Willley are in this list.
Besides, Rangpur Riders have come forward to the flood affected people through providing necessary living items like food and clothes. They have already helped more than 5500 families to fight against flood.
And to be added, Rangpur Riders were also a part of “Change Direction, A Suicide Awareness Campaign” organized by Partway Medical Clinic.
