For the first time ever, Bashundhara has become owners of a BPL franchise, that too of Rangpur which is most probably going to be led by Mashrafe Bin Mortaza – undoubtedly the most successfull captain in the history of the tournament.

Rangpur team has been set up with the Players’ Draft being held on Saturday (September 17). With a perfect combination of local stars added with foreign recruitment, Rangpur is one of the most expensive teams of this BPL alongside Comilla Victorians.

According to the accounts of the BPL governing council, Rangpur Riders and Comilla Victorians who will spend the highest amount of TK 26,200,000 each to pay their local and overseas players.

And Bashundhara Group’s vice chairman Safwan Sobhan is quite satisfied with the squad they have finally been able to pick up. “We have got almost 90 percent of what we had wanted.
