‘Sporting pitches to be made for NCL matches’ says Akram Khan

NCL begins from 15th SeptemberThe 19th national cricket league is about to start from 15th of this month according to the sources of Bangladesh cricket board.

8 teams will play in the tournament with 4 teams in each tier and once again it is sponsored by Walton.

National league will take place in 5 stadiums this season. Those are- Dhaka, Sylhet, Khulna, Rajshahi and Cox’s bazar.

In a press conference on Monday, the chairman of cricket operations committee of BCB Akram Khan said, “This time the pitch will be more sporting so that the batsmen gets to score more runs. The bowlers will also get the chance to perform as well. Each team will consist of 15 players.”

Last year Khulna won the first stage of the league and Dhaka metro got down to the second stage as they became last on the first stage.

Rangpur came up to the first stage after being the champion on the second stage. This time the first stage teams are- Khulna, Barisal, Rangpur and Dhaka division.

On the other hand the second stage teams are- Dhaka metro, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Chittagong division.

While the league will keep going, Bangladesh cricket team will tour South Africa for 45 days as a result the national team players will be out of the league.
