Trinbago Knight Riders claims second CPL title

Trinbago Knight Riders have earned their second CPL title beating St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots by 3 wickets in a low scoring thriller at the Brian Lara Stadium in Trinidad on Sunday.

Defending a low total of 135 runs, St Kitts and Nevis Patriots launched their attack well enough against Trinbago Knight Riders. Cottrell, Hafeez and Shamsi all picked up 2 wickets each to slice Knight Riders into 7 wickets down in 14 overs.

Cooper hammered hard along with Ramdin who contributed well scoring 26 runs in 31 deliveries.

Earlier in the day, West Indies’ World Cup hero Carlos Brathwaite’s stormy 30 run cameo put St Kitts and Nevis to 135 runs in their innings.

Trinbago Knight Riders won their first Caribbean Premier League title in 2015 under the name of Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel.
