Herath’s magic seals historical win for Sri Lanka

The test match between Pakistan & Sri Lanka has ended in a way that a test cricket lover would have wanted to. Sri Lanka have pulled out a miracle at Abu Dhabi after beating Pakistan by 21 runs, courtesy of Sri Lanka’s extraordinary bowling in the 2nd Innings. 

After a humiliating series for Sri Lanka against India, they came to battle against a team which rules at the United Arab Emirates. Sri Lanka made 419 runs after electing to bat first. The Sri Lanka skipper led from the front and scored an unbeaten 155. 

In reply, Pakistan scored 422 runs and took a lead of just 3 runs. The highest scorer for Pakistan was Azhar Ali who made 85 runs and for Sri Lanka it was the magican Rangana Herath who picked up yet another five wicket haul in test cricket.

The last two innings were all about the bowlers and it was Yasir Shah who demolished Sri Lanka for just 138 runs with his fifer. The target set by Sri Lanka was just 136 runs which looked like a easy victory for Pakistan until Herath happened. 

The magician for Sri Lanka just couldn’t stop his magic in the 2nd innings as well. Lakmal started the show and then Herath took it all the way to the end. He grabbed 6 wickets which ended in a historical win for Sri Lanka by 21 runs.

With this victory, Sri Lanka now lead 1-0 in the two match test series. Man of the match was none other than Rangana Herath for his 11 wickets in the test match.
