Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal is suffering from injury lately and is set miss the T20I series against South Africa. The in form opener won’t be available from the start of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) also. [বাংলায় পড়ুন:তাড়াহুড়ো করে বিপিএল খেলবেন না তামিম]
Tamim confirmed that we won’t be available from the start: “I don’t know still that how many matches I will miss in BPL. I have to be in rehab for two weeks. Then my condition will be seen again and then I will be able to say how many matches I will miss. But it is confirmed that I won’t play the first two matches.”
Tamim has been suffering from injury right from the start of South Africa tour. He didn’t play in the first ODI due to injury and then he came back in the 2nd ODI. But injury didn’t leave him as he was ruled out of the 3rd ODI and also for the rest of the matches in the tour.
The left hand batsman informed that he wants to careful this time: “My intentions are very clear. National team is my priority. It won’t be a good decision to play until I become fit again.”
He added: “BPL is a very important tournament. But there are matches in National team too. We have a big series against Sri Lanka. No matter how many matches I miss in BPL, I will play only when I become fit.”
Tamim will play for Comilla Victorians in the fifth edition of BPL. Their first match will be on 5th November. As Tamim confirmed he won’t play the first two matches, all eyes will be on the third match to see whether he plays or not.
