Kayes, Liton, Subashis improve in ICC Rankings

Despite Bangladesh cricket team’s innings defeat of 254 runs against South Africa in the second and last match of two-match Test series, three Bangladeshi cricketers- Imrul Kayes, Litton Das and Subashis Roy have made significant improvement in the updated ICC Test Player Rankings. At the end of the second Test, among the Bangladeshi batsmen, Litton Das has attained his career best rating points to jump 30 slots to grab the 91st position in the player rankings. His 70 and 18 runs in the second Test have helped him to attain career best 393 ratings. Alongside him, another Tiger batter, Imrul Kayes, after his 26 and 32 in Bloemfontein Test has moved to 69th position in the rankings.

Apart from the batsmen, Subashis Roy has made a significant improvement as he moves 18 spots to reach his career best rankings with career best rating points.

On the other hand, after a dominating Test series against Bangladesh, Aiden Markram has earned his career best position by moving 43 steps, Faf du Plessis also improves 2 steps. Among the Proteas bowlers Wayne Parnell moves 10 positions to claim 60th position on the player Rankings.

On the other part of the view, for Sri Lanka who have just eclipsed Pakistan by thrashing them in their home series, D. Karunaratne and D. Perera have improved. While Karunaratne grabs the 17th position, Perera climbs up to 76 position.

For Pakistan, Haris Sohail has jumped 27 positions to 84 and Wahab Riaz 1 spot to 24th position.

To be noted, after the series defeat to South Africa, Bangladesh lost two rating points but they are still at the ninth position on the Test Team Rankings.
