Bangladesh are in deep trouble with the bat in their first innings of the second Test against South Africa at Mangaung Oval, Bloemfontein. The tourists are already four wickets down at tea.

South Africa declared at 573/4 in 120 overs. They lost Hashim Amla for 132 in this session. Quinton de Kock’s quickfire 28* off 27 helped the Proteas go close to 600. Skipper Faf du Plessis stayed not out for 135 runs.

In reply, new opening pair of Soumya Sarkar and Imrul Kayes made a steady start. Soumya didn’t stay too long. He was bowled around his legs by Kagiso Rabada for 9. Mominul Haque (4) couldn’t save his team this time as he nicked a short ball from Duanne Olivier down the legside.

Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim, who scored 7, was highly unlucky when Temba Bavuma took a stunning catch with one hand to his right at gully. Olivier picked up his second wicket immediately.

Problems were still not over for the Tigers. Mahmudullah Riyad hit Wayne Parnell for a four in his first ball he bowled. Mahmudullah chased a wide delivery outside off-stump and ended up in edging to keeper de Kock.

Bangladesh have scored 61 runs for 4 wickets in 17 overs at tea. They are still trailing by 512 runs wirh six wickets remaining. Kayes (26* off 43) and Liton Das (10* off 14) are unbeaten at the crease.
