Bangladesh gave 496 runs for three wickets in the first innings after they took a surprising decision to bowl first in a flat track. The bowling performance was highly criticised by all. Mustafizur Rahman was stand out with three wickets in the match.
ODI skipper Mashrafe thinks Tiger Test bowlers will gain more experience if they play more matches. He also said that Bangladesh bowling strategy of spin to pace can’t be changed immediately.
“We always had concerns with our bowling in Test cricket. You need to bowl for a long time in Tests as well as bringing breakthroughs. Spinners dominated in England and Australia victories. It’s not possible to change Test cricket bowling overnight,” he explained.
“The challenge for batsmen in Tests is also same for the bowlers. It’s not like that everything can change quickly. But still they are very inexperienced, I believe they will do better if they get more opportunities to play.”
After the match, Bangladesh Test skipper Mushfiqur Rahim expressed his disappointment on bowlers at the post-match press conference.
