Nasir has been in and out member of Bangladesh team since 2015. He was included in Ireland tri-nation series and played one match against New Zealand in Dublin. Though he was picked for tri-series, selectors dropped him again for Champions Trophy in England and Wales.
The 25-year-old was picked in the Test squad after two years. He played both Tests against Australia this year. He scored 45 runs in Bangladesh’s batting tragedy in the first innings of Chittagong Test.
Nasir was dropped again for South Africa tour. Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu mentioned that Nasir was inexperienced on bouncy tracks. However, he is likely to be picked for the ODI series according to a reliable Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) source.
The ODI squad will be announced soon before the second Test in Bloemfontein begins. If Nasir gets picked, he will fly for South Africa on October 9 with skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and deputy Shakib Al Hasan.
Bangladesh will play a warm-up game on October 12 at Mangaung Oval against South Africa Invitation XI which include AB de Villiers and JP Duminy. The ODIs will begin from October 15 at Diamond Oval, Kimberley.
