Shakib Al Hasan reached in the peak of performance in the first two seasons of the Bangladesh Premier League albeit the world number one all-rounder could not shine brighter despite his team Dhaka Dynamites claimed the title of the biggest T20 competition of Bangladesh.
With one more season is knocking at the door, the icon of the defending champion Dhaka Dynamites’ has spoken about the team aim as well as his personal goal in an occasion in Dhaka on Friday.
The ace all-rounder said, “Yes, personal performance is important but the main focus will be how to achieve the best for the team. The focus will be twofold.”
“In the last season, my personal performance was indeed frustrating. This time I will spot my attention on both sides so that I could fulfill the team’s expectation as well as my own,” Shakib admitted.
Nevertheless the best performer of the country denied about feeling any sort of extraneous pressure, “Working some pressure in every big thing is quite methodical,” Shakib said.
“But the main focus would be how we perform in the field and how good the result will be for the team; it is all to be counted at the end of the day. Our team was the most balanced one in the last season and I think we proved that in the field as well and we will have to do that now as well,” he added.
Glowing with confidence, Shakib also said, “I also think no other team in the tournament have the collection of fine local cricketers that we have. And the same term is applicable for the foreign players. Now what is important of all is the performance in the field.”
