Bangladesh dressing-room has been hit by another bad news as opener Tamim Iqbal is ruled out for the rest of South Africa tour. He will be out of field for 3-4 weeks. [নিউজটি বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ তামিমের দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা সফর শেষ!]
Tamim injured his left thigh during a three-day practice match in Benoni. He carried the injury in the first Test in Potchefstroom and missed out in the next game in Bloemfontein.
The southpaw didn’t take part in warm-up one-dayer. He wasn’t fit for the first ODI in Kimberley. He was back in the playing XI in Paarl ODI where Bangladesh lost by 104 runs and the series. He scored 23 off 25 in that match.
Tamim’s pain seemed to be increased after the second ODI. He was taken for an ultrasona report in East London. The report couldn’t show any good news for Tamim and Bangladesh.
Tamim will miss the final ODI on Sunday and the two T20Is. Not only that, he will also be unavailable for first three Bangladesh Premier League 2017 matches for Comilla Victorians. He is likely to make his next outing against Chittagong Vikings on November 14 in Mirpur.
The opening batsman might return Dhaka tomorrow or on Monday with ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman. Earlier, Mustafizur was ruled out of current tour after injuring his ankle a day before the first ODI.
