Few days ago, Habibul Bashar said in a press conference that in the ‘A’ team there will be combination of young players and experienced players. But after announcing the 13-man squad, it looks completely the opposite.
When asked what’s the reason behind not picking Shahriar Nafees, Bashar said: “He didn’t play in NCL, that means he isn’t fit. How can I take him in the team if he isn’t fit?”
But Nafees said its not true. He said: “I played in NCL. But on 20th September, I had an operation. After that I’m fine now. He called in Barishal division and wanted to know why I wasn’t playing. They said I wasn’t playing because of the operation. I think that’s why he didn’t take me.”
The left hand batsman also had a question to ask: “Sumon bhai, I scored 3,000 runs in last 3 years but in return what you guys gave me? You guys could have call me in the camp at least.”
When Team Manager Habibul Bashar had to face all these questions, he said: “I have nothing to say about this anymore. Actually, we know they all are performers. But we wanted to give chances to the young players, that’s why we didn’t call them. But I will call them surely the next time I get chance.”
