All of a sudden bowler Mashrafe Bin Mortaza has turned out into a destructive batsman. In the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), Mashrafe has been delivering with the bat in crucial stages and leading Rangpur Riders from the front.
After the match in the press conference, Nazmul Islam Opu told when Mashrafe remains at the crease, batsman like Chris Gayle holds the innings and lets Mashrafe to attack.
Opu said: “Mashrafe bhai plays with a plan. He is in a good touch with the bat. In the previous match, even when Gayle was at the crease, Tom Moody sent Mashrafe bhai to attack. Coach advised as long as Mashrafe bhai will stay at the crease, he will only attack. Gayle will not take strike because when Gayle stays at the crease, the bowlers remain in pressure. That’s why coach wanted Mashrafe bhai to attack.”
He added: “We and Sylhet both needed to win. We tried to win and we did. Our plan is to attack at first and then hold and then attack again. In Sha Allah everyone will perform well in the upcoming matches.”
Opu also said about his trademark celebration: “During playing for Rajshahi Kings in the previous season, Sammy used to be afraid when I used to do something like this. Suddenly one day I did this in a match and from that day it became my trademark celebration.”
