After Chandika Hathurusingha sent letter to BCB for resignation, it has been a talking point all over the country and it includes the players too. BCB President also said that with Hathurusingha’s resignation, some players might be happy while some players will be not.
But senior cricketer Shahriar Nafees who is out of the team for a while now doesn’t belong to any of the side. He said in a press conference on Friday: “Hathurusingha gave us some good achievements. But now if he doesn’t want to work or has any problem, then he can go. Cricket is a kind of game where its wait for none. Its not like that if he doesn’t stay, then no one will become head coach. Its obvious that someone will take the role.”
Nafees also wished good luck to the coach for the future: “I wish him luck. I hope, Bangladesh will stay in the position they are. They played well under him.”
He added: “Some coaches give importance to experienced players while some gives importance to young players. There’s no use of discussing about him now.”
Nafees is playing for Rangpur Riders in the fifth edition of BPL and after losing the last match, he wants to turn it around in the next match: “Unfortunately, we lost our last match. Taskin’s over was the turning point of the match. We want to win the next match to get back in winning ways.”
