The 2nd T20I match, a match under the lights with a beautiful batting track at the Rajkot. New Zealand didn’t fail to capitalize after electing to bat first.
The openers started off to a flying start and and it didn’t stop until the 11th over. Though, Martin Guptill was dismissed but Collin Munro’s party kept going and it ended when New Zealand’s innings ended.
Munro scored his maiden T20I hundred and he was unbeaten for 109 runs off just 58 balls with 7 fours and 7 sixes. His innings took Blackcaps to a commanding score of 196 runs.
The bowlers had nothing to celebrate much and it was only debutant Mohammad Siraj and spinner Chahal who were able to take 1 wicket each.
When India came to bat, they fell into more pressure after they lost both the openers early. Then the man in form Virat Kohli was on in a mission to chase down the target but due to lack of support from the other end, it was looking like they were never in the game.
The man with the ball for New Zealand was Trent Boult who picked up 4 wickets and gave no chance to India to crawl back in the game. MS Dhoni’s 49 runs wasn’t enough too and India face a huge defeat of 40 runs in the 2nd T20I.
Just like the ODI series, New Zealand have leveled the T20I series 1-1. Now the men in black will be hoping that the final result of what happened in the ODI series doesn’t repeat.
