Bangladesh Women’s team captain Rumana Ahmed has joined Brisbane Heat squad for the forthcoming Women’s Big Bash League’s third season. Another Bangladeshi, Khadijatul Kubra has also joined Melbourne Stars.
Rumana and Kubra are among the eight players from around the world who will be playing in this tournament. It’s a joint initiative by Cricket Australia and ICC to give females from Bangladesh, Scotland, Ireland, Papua New Guinea and the Netherlands to join each of the WBBL teams.
The leg-spinning all-rounder Rumana is looking forward for the only franchise-based women’s T20 competition.
“The WBBL is the only franchisee-based tournament for women and is very competitive
“Every women cricketer wants to be a part of it. The coverage of the event will be worldwide and that’s a big incentive. This experience is bound to make me a better all-round professional and player,” she said.
The WBBL 2017-18 will kick off from December 9.
