Small mistakes make a huge difference in T20: Ronchi

New Zealand cricketer Luke Ronchi is leading the Chittagong Vikings after Misbah ul Haq was dropped from the playing XI and since then Chittagong have been doing well and so as the skipper Ronchi who is in blistering form with the bat.

Though Vikings are performing well in Chittagong than the Sylhet and Dhaka leg, their bowling are letting them down again and again. They are failing to defend high scores and losing matches which they should have won convincingly.

Ronchi and his men failed to defend 188 runs against the defending champions Dhaka Dynamites on Monday. Dhaka chased it down comfortably in the end with 7 wickets in hand and 7 balls remaining.

In the press conference after the match, Ronchi said: “We are trying to stay alive in the tournament. We were hoping to score 20 runs more in this match but that didn’t happen due to some middle order overs. T20 is like this. Small mistakes make a huge difference.”

Though the bowlers had a pretty bad day at the office, Ronchi stil had a lot to praise pacer Taskin Ahmed: “Taskin is one of our best bowler. He is getting wickets right from the beginning. It can’t be said that he is doing bad in the tournament. He is trying. He gave us an early breakthrough by dismissing Afridi. But due to tue failure of the other bowlers, he couldn’t continue his good bowling.”
