The 3rd day of the first test match belongs to the host Aussies courtesy of their skipper Steven Smith who led from the front with hia unbeaten 141.
Losing 4 wickets for 70 odd runs at one stage, Australia were in all sorts of trouble. But right after that, Smith hold the innings together and brought Australia back in the game.
Shaun Marsh and Pat Cummins were the only batsmen who were able to support their captain at the other aide. Marsh departed right after scoring half century and Cummins scored 42 runs.
The English bowlers couldn’t find any solution to dissmiss the Australian captain as he was unbeaten for 141 runs in the end but Australia were all out for 328 runs and took a lead of 26 runs. Smith now has the highest average after playing 57 tests in the history of test cticket which is 61.23.
James Anderson and Moen Ali both picked up 2 wickets but Broad was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets.
England got only 16 overs to play before stumps and with the fall of two wickets, they are now in the backfoot of the test match. The last two days of the first test match are set to give some thrills and excitement.
