Hosting BPL for the first time in the history of the tournament, local team Sylhet Sixers has made a flying journey this season. After their emphatic win the first match, the Sixers grabbed a thrilling one in their second encounter.
When the match was almost taken by the Comilla Victorians, wicket keeper batsman Nurul Hasan snatched it back for the home team with a firing 11 runs batting at number seven.
Nurul Hasan’s innings eventually set the victory for the Sixers in the penultimate delivery of the innings bringing stupendous joy to the local crowd.
With a single four and a six, Hasan picked his 11 runs in 3 balls.

Together they put up 73 runs in the first wicket. Comilla Victorians’ bowlers waited up to the ninth over to claim the first breakthrough of the innings.
Dwayne Bravo became successful when he managed to uproot Andre Fletcher after adding 36 runs on the board. He played 29 deliveries and hit 5 fours and 2 sixes.
After the departure of Fletcher, Sabbir Rahman (3 off 5) also went back to the pavilion quickly, trapped leg before wicket by Nabi.
Upul Tharanga glazed with the bat like the previous match, completed his second consecutive half century of the tournament before losing his wicket by a direct throw of substitute fielder Hasan. Tharanga’s 51 came off 40 deliveries with 5 shots to the boundary and 2 over boundaries.
All-rounder Nasir Hossain have had the chance to bat for the first time in two matches Sylhet Sixers have played so far, made an effective came knock of 18 off 20 deliveries with 2 boundaries.
Dwayne Bravo claimed 2 wickets for Comilla Victorians with Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi took one a piece put the Victorians in the edge of the victory at one stage before Nurul Hasan hammered back.
Before that, in their first match of the season, Comilla Victorians’ batsmen put up a humble score on the board in courtesy of a blitzing half century by Caribbean season campaigner Marlon Samuels.

Samuels batted in one down, hammered three sixes and 2 fours in his 60, scored in 47 deliveries.
The rest of the middle and late order batsmen of the Victorians failed to make any significant contribution to build up a competitive score for the team.
Alok Kapali stood for some time knocked a quick fire 26 runs off 19 deliveries with 1 four and 2 sixes. This is, however, the second highest score for the Comilla Victorians in the match.
All-rounder Nasir Hossain and Sylhet Sixer’s English recruit Liam Plunkett brought crucial breakthroughs for the team.
Nasir captured the wicket of opener Imrul Kayes while Plunkett picked Samuels.
This is the second successive win for the Sixers.
