New Zealand have clinched the three-match ODI series 2-0 with a massive win of 204 runs over the West Indies in the second ODI at Hagley Oval, Christchurch.

New Zealand rested their skipper Kane Williamson and Tim Southee. Tom Latham captained the hosts. West Indies didn’t have Chris Gayle due to illness.

The Blackcaps posted 325/6 on board after being put into bat. They had starts at the top. Colin Munro scored 30 while stand-in captain Latham made 20.

Opener George Worker scored his second consecutive fifty, 58 off 53 with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Ross Taylor scored 57 off 66 with 5 boundaries.

New Zealand were five wickets down for 186 runs in 33 overs. Henry Nicholls and Todd Astle put on a 130-run partnership for the sixth wicket to take the total past 300. Astle scored 45-ball 49 hitting only a four and 2 sixes.

Nicholls remained unbeaten scoring 83 runs from 62 deliveries including 7 fours and 2 sixes. Sheldon Cottrell took three wickets for 62 runs.

West Indies were bowled out for a mere 121 in 28 overs. Ashley Nurse top-scored with 27 off 33. Shai Hope made 23.

Trent Boult picked up four early wickets in the powerplay. He went on to take seven wickets for 34 runs. This is the second-best bowling figures by a New Zealander and the eighth-best overall. Lockie Ferguson took the rest three wickets

With a 204-run win, New Zealand have registered their fourth-biggest win in terms of runs. Boult became the fifth-fastest to 100 ODI wickets, 56 matches.
