Chandika Hathurusingha is known as a strict headmaster. He had shown it in Bangladesh in his three-year span and know he is doing it in his country Sri Lanka. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed has disclosed that the Sri Lankan was rude. [বাংলায় পড়ুনঃ হাথুরু বকেঝকে বলতেন, সুজন বুঝিয়ে বলেন]
Hathurusingha is strict on disciplinary matters. In 2015 World Cup, he sent Al-Amin Hossain back to Bangladesh from Australia for being late to return hotel. Now after taking over Sri Lanka’s head coach role, he has banned music during practice sessions.
Khaled Mahmud Sujon is currently a technical director for the forthcoming tri-series and Sri Lanka series. Speaking of him, Taskin informed that Sujon is cordial to his boys.
“Each individual has different style of teaching. He (Hathurusingha) might had been rude. Sujon sir also gets angry, scolds us. But he coaches us with cordiality so that we can catch him easily,” revealed Taskin after practice session at Shere Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur Saturday.
Bangladesh had a poor series in South Africa with losing all seven matches across formats. Taskin said that the wickets in South Africa were flat, but Bangladeshi batsmen could not score runs.
“Those who understand cricket better, they will understand that wickets in South Africa are good for batsmen. It’s a wrong to think that SA, England and New Zealand will produce bowling-friendly wickets all the time. We also lacked runs. Bowlers are not the only ones to be blamed. It’s better not to talk about which has passed. New year is coming up. I hope everything will start newly,” he explained.
