Mehidy Hasan Miraz is high on confidence after a terrific performance in the last round of National Cricket League for Khulna Division against Dhaka Division. He now aims to use his confidence in the coming fixtures.
Miraz took 10/113 in the match including a career-best 7/24 in the first innings, that played a crucial role in Khulna’s sixth title win.
The 19-year-old was wicketless in the first Test against South Africa in Potchefstroom. He gave away 247 runs, becoming the fifth bowler to concede 200 or more runs without taking a wicket in a Test match. He wad dropped in the next Test.
With a title-winning display in NCL, he is eager to do well in international cricket again. Bangladesh will be playing a tri-series against Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe before playing Sri Lanka for two Tests and two T20Is.
“We have a Test series coming up after the tri-nation series. I am thrilled at my performance in the last match of National League. Confidence is a very important matter for every cricketer. I want to use my confidence in the new series.
“I was wicketless in my last Test. Now I have got wickets in the four-day NCL match. It’s special for me. This performance will inspire me a lot,” said Mraz.
Speaking of his keys to success, the off-spinning has said that he tried to bowl in the right areas.
“I tried to bowl in the right areas. I tried to do what I always use to plan. My plan was to bowl wicket to wicket. I didn’t any wicket in the last Test. I had on my mind to bowl with patience. My belief was that I would get rewards if I bowled in the good areas. I was able to do that and so I was successful,” he added.
