Tier-1 topper Khulna Division elected to bowl first. Khulna made inroads with Mustafizur Rahman sending back Rony Talukdar and Mohammad Zahiduzzaman. Skipper Abdur Razzak then dismissed Abdul Majid.
All the last seven wickets were taken by off-spinner Miraz. He bowled Shuvagata Hom and Rakibul Hasan out before the tea break. It didn’t take too long for him to take rest of the five wickets.
The 20-year-old’s spin magic bundled Dhaka Division out for 113 runs in 38.4 overs. He took seven wickets for 24 runs in 11.4 overs including five maidens. This is the best bowling figures by a bowler in this NCL.
This is Miraz’s seventh five-wicket haul in an innings. His previous best was 6/50. Currently he has 91 wickets in 23* first-class matches.
