Outclassed by Dhaka Dynamites in the first qualifier, Comilla Victorians were submerged by Rangpur Riders in the rain controverted reserve day match of the second qualifier as well.

In a recent interview Tamim Iqbal appreciated not only both the final contenders of the Bangladesh Premier League 2017 but also his team’s competitiveness.

“Two of the most competent teams played in the final. Chris Gayle batted incredibly well. I hope the match would be closer because the wicket looked good. The way Mashrafe and other bowlers of Rangpur bowled was really enjoyable,” Tamim said.

But the greatest opener of Bangladesh also proclaimed his team’s greatness in the tournament.

“To be honest, in my opinion, we were the best team in the tournament. Everyone watched how we played in group stage matches. But unfortunately we could not perform as a team in last two matches,” the Comilla Victorians’ captain said.

Expressing his enjoyment as a captain, Tamim Iqbal said, “I’m learning captaincy, I can say. I never say that I can do or excel in everything. To me it is a learning curve.”
