Terminating three years suspension in domestic cricket, youngest Test centurion Mohammad Ashraful played in the premier league last year and from this year, he has been permitted to play in the franchise based domestic cricket Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL). During giving an interview in the Channel I online, Mohammad Ashraful said, “The consistency of playing in the national league and premier league will now be maintained as I can play in the BCL now. I have to play and perform everywhere if I ever want to enter into the national team once again.”
“I’m feeling really good. Actually things don’t go smoothly once there is a break. Premier League is also coming up after that. I’m dreaming of returning in the Bangladesh through performing well in domestic cricket,” Ashraful said.
Mohammad Ashraful is going to represent East Zone in the forthcoming BCL which is going to be started from 9th of January this year.
Ashraful played for Walton Central Zone in the beginning season of the Bangladesh Cricket League in 2012 when he led the team in claiming the title of the competition. In the final of BCL 2012, Ashraful grabbed 4 wickets with a hat-trick. That was the last time as well before slipping off from all sorts of cricket.
For the former captain Mohammad Ashraful, the five years sentence from playing international cricket is coming to an end on 13th August, 2018.
