Dominant Australia wins Ashes 4-0

The fifth and the final Test match of the Ashes has come to an end and the result of this match is the highlights of the whole series. Australia dominated their rivals England in all departments and won convincingly by an innings and 123 runs to finish the series 4-0.


England won the toss and opted to bat first in the final Test match but none of the batsman couldn’t deliver except David Malan who scored a patient 68 from 180 balls. Pat Cummins was on fire for the Aussies as he took 4 wickets to restrict England to 346. Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood also contributed well and they both picked up 2 wickets each.

In reply to England’s first innings, though Bancroft was out for a duck David Warner made sure he puts some runs on the board. He scored 56 before getting dismissed to James Anderson. Then began Australia’s dominance in the Test match. Starting from Usman’s Khawaja’s 171 and Steven Smith’s 83, it ended with the brothers of destruction Shaun Marsh and Mitchell March who both scored centuries.

Though Mitchell Marsh was in risk of missing the hundred as he was sharing a light moment with his brother Shaun Marsh at the middle of the crease before running for his 100th run. But it didn’t end like people thought after seeing skipper Smith’s reaction. Mitchell Marsh completed his century and Australia kept dominating. Australia declared their innings after they put a mammoth score of 649 runs.

In England’s 2nd innings, their batting performance almost looked like the same but the only difference is it was even worse than the first innings. Except English skipper Joe Root, none of the batsman couldn’t put up a show and they were bundled out for just 180 runs. Cummins’ kept his consistency in the 2nd innings too and again picked up 4 wickets with Nathan Lyon supporting from the other end and he picked up 3 wickets. With that, England tasted yet another humiliating defeat against their rivals and for Australia, its all party time after a 4-0 Ashes win.
