Ervine targets Sri Lanka to grab final spot

After losing the first match against the hosts, Zimbabwe came back strongly against Sri Lanka and defeated them. With Sri Lanka losing the all two matches, Zimbabwe need only one win now to qualify in the final and Craig Ervine has targeted Sri Lanka once again.

Ervine said in the press conference: “If Sri Lanka wants to play in the final, they have to win their last two matches and we need only one win. That’s why we are in a more comfortable position than Sri Lanka,”

“I am pretty sure they’ll be very keen to bounce back. They have to win the next two games in order to get to the final. We need one more win so we know they will come hard at us. We will have to go hard at them, even though we have beaten them once already. I don’t think our plans will change too much.”

About the plans: “I think we are just trying to take it game by game. Every game is different. I don’t think the plans will be exactly the same as the one against Sri Lanka previously. We have won a series against them and won the first game here too. Our XI will have to turn up for a good game.”

Ervine added: “If Sri Lanka lose, then its all over for them. On the other hand, if we lose we will still stay alive in the tournament. This will build pressure on Sri Lanka.”
