All-rounder Thisara Perera, who is one of the rare Sri Lankan players who looks in form has urged everyone to give some time to their new head coach Chandika Hathurusingha and ued the team’s failure to execute batting plans.

Perera in the post match press conference: “I think our batting didn’t click. t can happen in cricket. When we look at the last match against Zimbabwe, we have a lot of positives to take. But in this match, we couldn’t execute our batting plans. This is definitely a 300-run wicket,”

He added: “We came back strong after Shakib and Tamim batted really well. It looked like a 350 score but it came down to 320. Our bowling unit also did well in the first 10 overs. But we didn’t execute our plans.”

About Mathews: “He [Mathews] is a key player in our batting unit. I don’t know what happened with him. But certainly it is really a big blow.”

About Hathurusingha: “I think it is plus point for us. Chandika Hathurusingha is one of the best coaches in the world. I worked with him in the A team in 2011-12. He needs time. No one can do miracles. I think it is time to step up with this news coach.”
