Hussey appointed batting coach of CSK

Mike Hussey, after playing for seven seasons for Chennai Super Kings and helped them to win the title twice, has now been appointed as the batting coach of the franchise for the Indian Premier League 2018. The season will start from April 5.

One of the most consistent performers in the cricket history, Mike Hussey could not hide his excitement following the new appointment, said, “I am really excited about returning to the Chennai Super Kings in a coaching capacity and working with the players to help them get the best out of themselves and also help to bring success to this great franchise.”

The 42 year old also said, “I have so many great memories as a player and have made many wonderful friends in Chennai and now I am excited about giving back to the franchise in trying to help the next generation of CSK players.”

Mike Hussey is the third highest run getter for Chennai Super Kings behind Suresh Raina (3699) and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (2987). He scored 1768 runs.

Chennai Super Kings Director K George John, also said, “It’s really nice to have Hussey back with us in a coaching capacity since he has played for us and possesses a keen cricketing brain. I’m sure he’ll continue to be a huge asset to the franchise.’

Chennai Super Kings won the IPL title twice, finished runner-up in four seasons and qualified for the play-offs in all eight seasons.
