I want to be a regular starter in the team now: Sunzamul

The tri-nation series will begin on 15th January. Bangladesh will take on Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. Spinner Sunzamul Islam has been included in the 16-man squad and he is set to make a comeback after a long time.

In last year’s tri-series in Ireland, Sunzamul got chance for the first time. But he got chance in only one match. In that match he picked up 2 wickets and conceded 22 runs in 5 overs. Then Sunzamul couldn’t get a place in the team after that. After performing well in the latest edition of NCL and BPL, Sunzamul has got his place back in the side.

Sunzamul got chance after 8 months, but the spinner isn’t disappointed: “I am not disappointed. After playing one match (in Ireland) I didn’t get chance due to the conditions. I tried to learn many things by watching. After applying that, I got chance, that’s it. I hope I can perform well now. My target is to be a regular starter in the team now.”

He added: “This will be my main target. My target will be to stay in the starting XI and to perform consistently.”

In the tri-nation series, Sunzamul will be the partner of the other left arm spinner Shakib Al Hasan.
