Today has been a day to forget for the Bangaldesh team. They have lost the final match of the tri-nation series by 79 runs against Sri Lanka and adding some pain to that Shakib Al Hasan who got injured during fielding today will miss the first Test against Sri Lanka.
The ODI skipper Mashrafe Bin Mortaza who suffered a lot of injuries in his career played his last Test match back in 2009. Due to injuries, he was not seen in the white shirt anymore. But because of the team and because of Shakib’s absence, Mashrafe will be ready to play for the country if he is called.
In the post match press conference, he said: “Obviously I will come if my team needs me. We have captain Mahmudullah. I believe he can lead the team well and rest of the senior players will definitely support him.”
Mashrafe added: “With the absence of Shakib, it will be a big challenge. The Test series is very important for us now to help us move on from this stage. Not because only we lost the ODI series.”
About the Test series: “If we win the Test series, the scenario of the team will completely change. We are now looking forward to the Test series.”
