In cricket world, Bangladesh’s most popular name is Shakib Al Hasan. Not only in one format, Shakib is the first cricketer to become number one all-rounder in all the three formats. The all-rounder has enormous number of records under his belt.
Shakib has maintained his consistency in the year 2017 too. In most of the time of the year, he was number one all-rounder in all the three formats. Seeing Shakib’s success, International Cricket Council (ICC) has named the success as “Runaway leader.”
As 2017 has come to an end, ICC is making a list of greats. India’s Cricbuzz, Times of India, Cricinfo and Cricket Australia, Shakib has been selected in their team of the year. ICC said in a recent press conference: “Among all the all-rounders combining all the formats, Shakib is the Runaway leader. India’s Ashwin-Jadeja in Test, Pakistan’s Mohammad Hafeez in ODIs, Australia’s Glenn Maxwell T20Is, all fought with Shakib for the number one place.”
A message from ICC was published in Shakib’s official facebook page: “An unbelievable achievement. For remaining number one all-rounder in all the three formats of the game, Shakib has been named as “Runaway Leader” by ICC. Obviously the achievement of success should motivate him to play well in the upcoming series.”
