India to play two T20Is against Ireland before England tour

The Indian Cricket Board has announced on Wednesday that the Indian team will be playing two T20I against Ireland, before their tour to England in July this year.

The T20I series will be played in Dublin on June 27 and June 29. Thereafter, India will play five Tests, three ODIs and three T20I against England.

India has toured Ireland once before, way back in 2007, and had played one-off ODI in Belfast. The team won the match by nine wickets. In the one T20I these two teams have played together, India came out on top, and won the match by eight wickets. The match took place at Trent Bridge, in the 2009 World T20.

After their short tour of Ireland, India are scheduled to play three T20Is, three ODIs and five Tests in England.

India will travel to Manchester for the first T20I against England on July 3. This will be followed by two more T20Is in Cardiff and Bristol on July 6 and 8 respectively. India will then play the ODIs at Trent Bridge, Lord’s and Headingley from July 12 to 17 before embarking on the Test series.
