Mashrafe credits Mahmudullah for historical centuries

Mahmudullah doesn't feel like 'underrated'

Ahead of the upcoming tri-nation series against Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka, Bangladesh ODI captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza spoke to the media, on Sunday.

Former Tigers coach Chandika Hathurusingha who worked with the team for theree years and has a good understanding of their strengths and weakness will be opponent in the upcoming series as he recently have joined Sri Lanka as head coach.

While talking about the former coach Mashrafe said, “I salute to Haturusinghe. He worked with us for more than past three years. He deserves credit for our good performances.”

However,  Mashrafe also said that his players also have studied their opponents. “We the players also were beside him. We have made ourselves better day by day.”

Meanwhile, the 33-year old skipper also gave credit to his players for the team’s outstanding performance under his captaincy in recent years. He recalled all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad’s brilliant centuries in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 & ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

Talking about Mahmudullah Riyad he said, “It was all his credit when he scored those two centuries. Nobody went to the crease to suggest him what to do while he was batting.”
