No call for Tamim-Mahmudullah in IPL auction

Inform Bangladesh opener Tamim Iqbal and all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyad’s name weren’t called in the player auction for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

However, not only Tamim Iqbal and Mahmudullah Riyad some more big names of international cricket such as Hashim Amla, Joe Root, James Faulkner, Josh Hazlewood, Samuel Badree haven’t got a team yet. Although Chris Gayle had remained unsold after his name was called two times, Kings XI Punjab roped in the star opener in the third call.

Apart from Tamim and Mahmudullah two more Bangladeshi cricketers Sabbir Rahman and Abul Hasan Raju who were listed in the player draft list, also didn’t get any call at the player auction.

Earlier, on Saturday during the first day of the auction two Bangladeshi players Shakib Al Hasab and Mustafizur Rahman got their new franchise in the tournament. Shakib who played last seven seasons of the most exciting T20 tournament for Kolkata based franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), will wear Mustafizur’s former team Sunrisers Hyderabad’s jersey.

On the other hand, young sensational pacer Mustafizur who helped the Hyderabad based franchise to register their first ever IPL trophy in the ninth season of the tournament, has been picked by Mumbai Indians for the upcoming season.
