The present contract has been running up to the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup. After the sponsorship dealing of 60 crore BDT, Robi Axiata Limited imposed conditions that cricketers would not be allowed to participate in any advertisements of any other telecommunication companies except Robi within the time frame of contract.
In the subsequent stage of prolong silence, the highest authority of cricket in the country has taken active steps forward in this regard Notices already have been sent by the BCB to cricketers who have contracts with other telecommunication companies except Robi.
Bangladesh national team cricketers, for their sky high popularity, are made brand ambassadors of several mobile companies for which they are hugely paid. Now cancellation of those contracts would inflict significant financial loses to star cricketers.
