The Kiwis were put into bat and they managed to score only 117 runs in their 20 overs and lost 9 wickets, none of the batsman except de Grandhomme could contribute with the bat and he was unbeaten for 38 runs.
Billy Stanlake and Andrew Tye trashed the Kiwis batting line up and they both combinedly took 7 wickets which helped Australia restrict them for just 117 runs.
Before Australia could come to bat, rain interrupted the match and it forced to lose some overs. Australia’s target was reduced to 95 runs from 15 overs under the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern system after a rain delay.
