In today’s match of the Prime Bank School Cricket, a student of Pirojpur Haluarhat School smashed a double hundred in fifty over contest. Named Al Imran, the batsman of Haluarhat opened the innings for his team and ended scoring a massive 242 runs.
Riding on the mammoth total by Imran, Haluarhat mounted a gigantic 378 runs in their innings although they were bundled out within 44 overs.
Playing only 116 deliveries, Al Imran hammered 25 fours; last but not the least, 16 shots of sixes were added in the tally for the batsman.
Chasing on the monumental total, the opposition Technical School were restricted to only 102 runs, leaving behind a catastrophic loss of 276 runs.
Taijul captured 6 wickets conceding 21 runs for Pirojpur Haluarhat School.
556 schools are participating in this year’s Prime Bank School Cricket Championship. The highest number of schools have been registered from district Dhaka. 130 schools of the capital district are participating in the largest school cricket competition of the country.
The Divisional Championship will start consisting of District champions. Afterwards the National Championship will take place among champions of seven districts and Dhaka Metro.
Last year, a batsman from Shamsul Haque Khan School and College named Habibur Rahman struck a magnificent 275 runs innings facing just 110 balls. He flicked 32 fours and 22 sixes.
