The Delhi borne Manjot Kalra, 19 year old left hander batsman steered India to clinch the glorifying 4th title of the ICC Under-19 World Cup. At the Mount Maunganui in New Zealand, the young Indian stars raced to the victory target in 38.5 overs.

The target of 216 made by Australia Under-19 team was gunned down by Manjot Kalra himself, the lefty squared a wonderful unbeaten 101 runs.

The opening partnership between PP Shaw and Manjot Kalra stood for 71 runs, Shaw was bowled by Sutherland only to bring Shubman Gill in the crease. With Manjot holding one end of the crease, the second wicket partnership stood for 60 runs.

After the departure of Shubman Gill, HM Desai completed the task for India Under-19 team leaving the field with the historical win.

Earlier, Australia Under-19 team won the toss and decided to bat first. Some restricted bowling display by Indian bowlers, Porel, Roy and Shiva did not allow the Aussie batsmen to score fluently.

With nearly three overs left in hand, Australia Under-19 were bundled out scoring 216 runs, the highest 76 was scored by J Merlo.

IC Porel, AS Roy and Shiva Singh all claimed 2 wickets each.
