Bangladesh played the tri-nation series and the Sri Lanka series without any head coach and it put some bad impact to the team as the result of the matches says it all. Though Bangladesh didn’t bring any new coach yet, but bowling coach Courtney Walsh has been named the interim head coach for the upcoming Nidahas trophy.
Walsh believes he can bring consistency back in the team and hopes to put a good impact to the team.
After becoming the interim coach, Walsh appeared in a press conference on Tuesday.
He said: “We are lacking a bit of consistency. The talent is here and the guys have good work rate. If we can get consistent, we will be happy and it is going to be the biggest challenge, and it is something that I will be stressing on. A lot.”
Coach is like a father, said by the former West Indies player: ” The role is going to be like a father figure, to give them the confidence. We must make sure everybody is prepared for the extra work that we need to do to get those out of form, in good form.”
He concluded: “We have to get everybody thinking that they have to play a role for the team, so that everyone plays for the team and do what is required. It is going to be my motto.”
