Thousands of security personnel from different forces have been deployed in the port city of Pakistan, Karachi ahead of the Pakistan Super League 2018 final on Sunday. The city is covered under gigantic security nets to avoid any pinch of possible mishap.
In the venue where Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United will lock horns for the final at the Karachi National Stadium, a state level security will be set up including adding bomb proof buses that had been brought from Lahore.
But despite all these efforts, several high profile foreign stars refused to visit Karachi including Kevin Pietersen, Eoin Morgan and Shane Watson.
Former Pakistan wicketkeeper, Moin Khan said, “It’s disappointing that some foreign players refused to come after giving their consent initially. PCB will have to take notice and not include those players in draft as it will be big loss for the franchise.”
There are some others who expressed their good wills too in this regard like West Indies hard hitter Darren Sammy who said, “Pakistan is a place where I have a great connection and I feel proud that I am part of the efforts to revive international cricket in Pakistan.”
The final of the Pakistan Super League (2018) will take place at the Karachi International Stadium in Karachi on Sunday. The two contesting teams are Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. The match will kick off at 7.00 pm local time.
